About
Founded in Cork, for Cork.
Cork Rat Control was founded in 2011 by Michael Hennessy, a former Environmental Health Officer with Cork City Council. After fifteen years inspecting food premises and writing up the same pest-control failures over and over, he decided to start the firm he kept wishing existed.
The premise has not changed since: we do one species, in one city, properly. No franchise. No call-centre. No upselling you on a bee removal or a wasp nest you don't have.
Today we are a team of five technicians, all PCS-licensed and BPR-trained, working out of a small unit just off Patrick Street. We treat roughly twelve to fifteen properties a week — enough to stay sharp, few enough that the boss still attends every emergency call-out himself.

What we believe
Three working rules.
I.
Diagnose before treating.
A rat problem you don't understand is a rat problem you will see again. Every job starts with a survey.
II.
Proof or fail.
Bait alone moves rats around. Sealing entry points is the only way to make the problem stop coming back.
III.
Document everything.
Photos, station maps, activity logs. If we can't prove what we did, we didn't do it.
